Rosalie is a small coastal community on the southeastern side of Dominica, where the Rosalie River reaches the Atlantic Ocean. The village lies within a landscape of steep forested hills, river valleys, and rocky coastline, with the surrounding area forming part of Dominica’s lush eastern interior. Rosalie is particularly associated with the Rosalie Bay area, where the river, rainforest, and ocean meet.
This pleasant port town provides a nice, calmer contrast to bustling Rome, so travelers are advised to not simply pass through, but linger and discover more of Civitavecchia. Jambiani is a coastal village on Zanzibar’s southeastern shore, facing the Indian Ocean along a long stretch of white sand and shallow turquoise water. The village extends along the coast between Paje and Makunduchi, with traditional homes, small guesthouses, fishing areas, and local businesses spread between the beach and inland fields.
Leiden or Leyden, city in the western Netherlands, in Zuid-Holland (South Holland) Province, on the Old Rhine River, near The Hague. Leiden is also the site of the State University of Leiden, one of the oldest and most distinguished universities in Europe. It was the birthplace of several important Dutch painters, including Rembrandt, Jan van Goyen, and Jan Steen. During the 17th century the English settlers who became known as the Pilgrims took refuge in Leiden before leaving for North America.

Located on the western coast of Navarino Island in southern Chile, Bahía Wulaia is a sheltered bay along the Murray Channel. Once home to one of the region’s most important Yaghan settlements, the bay later became a meeting place between the Yaghan people and European explorers. Today, visitors can follow heritage trails through the surrounding forest and enjoy sweeping views of the bay and the islands of Tierra del Fuego.
