Lake Ndutu is a shallow seasonal soda lake in northern Tanzania, within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area near the southern edge of the Serengeti ecosystem. The lake sits among open short-grass plains, acacia woodland, and other seasonal wetlands, creating a varied landscape for wildlife. Although relatively small, Lake Ndutu is part of a much larger ecological area where the plains of the southern Serengeti meet the Ngorongoro highlands.
Agafay, often called Morocco’s "stone desert," is located just 40 kilometers southwest of Marrakech, but the landscape feels like a different world. Unlike the golden dunes of the Sahara, Agafay stretches out in rolling hills of sand-colored rock and hard-packed earth. It offers the vastness of a desert experience without requiring a long journey from the city.
The 300 square mile Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is reached by taking the Georgeville turnoff at mile 65 of the Western Highway. After going through miles of tropical jungle you will be in a forest of tall pines growing amongst wildflowers and grasses. The area has whitewater rivers, waterfalls and cave systems.
Khao Lak rests quietly along Thailand’s Andaman coastline, about an hour north of Phuket, yet it feels worlds apart. This stretch of shoreline runs for miles, with wide sandy beaches that often seem almost untouched. The name itself comes from the nearby mountain that rises behind the coast, giving the area a dramatic backdrop where forest meets sea.
Beyond its historical sites, Jordan's natural landscapes offer a diverse range of experiences. The Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth's surface, is renowned for its buoyant waters and therapeutic mud, attracting visitors seeking relaxation and wellness. To the south, Wadi Rum's dramatic desert scenery, with its towering sandstone mountains and vast red dunes, provides a backdrop for adventure activities like jeep tours, camel rides, and stargazing.
