Use this guide when packing your checked bag. If in doubt, keep it in carry-on or check official guidance.

New in Aug 2025

  • Cordless hair-styling tools powered by gas or butane (cordless curling/flat irons) — not allowed in checked bags. Allowed in carry-on only with a fitted safety cover; typically limited to one per person. Gas refill cartridges are not permitted in checked or carry-on.

  • Spare (uninstalled) lithium batteries of any size — banned in checked (carry-on only; protect terminals).

Devices with batteries installed (e.g., laptops) are generally allowed in checked, but it’s safer to carry them on.
